| Always looking forward to hunt here. |
 |
Kevin,
I am looking forward to this falls hunt at Ashlenz. I have hunted deer from the mid-west and Canada over the last 30 years and have had some of my most memorable hunts while hunting at Ashlenz the last three consecutive years. The buck I shot last year should be back from the taxidermist soon and I am looking forward to trying to kill a bigger one this year. I find the accommodations and meals are home-like and comfortable which helps me prepare for the long hours I am willing to sit on stand for a chance at a trophy of a life-time. I appreciate the knowledge, dedication, hard work and attention to detail you and your guides have displayed on a daily basis placing each and every hunter in camp in a position for the chance of an opportunity at a trophy deer on every hunt. I hunt deer about 60 days a year and look forward to the week at Ashlenz because the work is done all I have to do is hunt. See you this fall!

| Best I have seen this whole season. |
 |
Kevin, thank you for the opportunity to hunt with you during the 2006 archery and shot gun season. I was very impressed with the farms we hunted and the placement of tree stands. I seen more quality shooter bucks in one week then I seen all season in my state of Indiana. I was very well pleased with the guide service and how I was treated the whole time I was there. The deer I took was a 242 lb 11 pointer and it looks good on the wall. I would highly recommend Ashlenz Outfitters for an excellent opportunity to harvest a Illinois wall hanger. Thank you for the experience.

| Coming back again, great
time here. |
 |
Kevin another year of hunting has come and gone, I had a great time as usual hunting with you and your guides. The weather was awesome the last trip in late season with snow and cold. The new properties i thought they were great. Again for the 4th year in a row i had shot opportunities at 140" deer. Looking forward to coming turkey hunting with you in April and back to the grind in Nov. and Dec. with the deer. Have a great spring

| Thanks Kevin! |

"Finally, an outfitter that does all he claims he will. Finally, farms that are as good as they are supposed to be. Finally, stands hung the way they need to be. Finally, a guided hunt where wind direction and a stealthy approach mean something. All I can say to you Kevin is thanks for an incredible experience in the deer woods. Hold me a spot and I will see you again next year!"

| Great accommodations... |
 |
Kevin,
I had a great time hunting with you last fall. Your accommodations were great and the new lodge you’re building looks even better. I was very impressed with your attention to detail picking stands each day for your hunters. And I also appreciated the energy that you put into the land and deer management. You’re place has excellent potential and I’m looking forward to coming back to hunt with you real soon.
All the best,

| All I had expected and more ... |
 |
I first hunted Illinois with Ashlenz outfitters in 2003, the trip there was all I had expected and more. I harvested a solid 150'' ten pointer, and had a 170'' + buck within 50 yards. I had planned on hunting montana the following year, but decided to go back to Illinois instead. In 2004 I had shots on two different bucks that would have score in the 140's, I passed on them early in the hunt waiting for something bigger. Unfortunately he didn't show. The week I was there was a little warm and the bucks weren't moving well. I had to skip the hunt in 2005, but I've already scheduled my hunt for 2006, I cant wait to get back up there. The property that Kevin has is the best I've seen, he strictly manages for big bucks, and he knows how to hunt them. The guides were very familiar with the deer and the properties, and showed me a thing or two. They really treated me like family, they want you to kill a buck as bad as you do. Very importantly, they will only hunt a stand when the wind is right. The food and lodging was great and they've got the deer. See you this fall.

| A great experience ... |
 |
Even though our hunt was not successful (that's why they call it hunting), I want to thank both you and Brian for a great experience. Upon arrival at the Ashlenz camp, I was impressed from the start. The accommodations exceeded my expectations, the food was fantastic, the land/stand set-ups were phenomenal and the guide service both you and Brian displayed was a testament of how bad Ashlenz wanted us to fill our tags. My hunting partner and I were so impressed, we sent in our checks to hold spots for the upcoming 2006 archery season. See you the 3rd week of October. Until then, happy scouting.

| Thanks for having me... |
 |
Thanks for having me as a guest at Ashlenz Outfitters. I hunted November 2005 during bow and shot gun season. During bow season, I saw at least four 140 + deer, but I was waiting for a "real trophy". On the second day of shot gun season, I harvested a 12 point with a 9 inch drop tine.
It was worth the wait! I would recommend Ashlenz Outfitters.

| Solid trophy deer hunt ... |
 |
If you are looking for a rock solid trophy deer hunt, Ashlenz Outfitters is the place. Great deer, lodge, food, and guides are what you will get. You are treated like a guest, not just a paying client. If you are looking for a place to go year after year, this is it!
See you next year,
Mike

| Very serious about hunting... |
 |
My impression of Kevin and his guides is that they are very serious about hunting and they want their hunters to be successful. They respect the animals they hunt. They use the wind to make their deer feel secure and un-pressured. They have enough stands to keep the wind in your favor at all times. Kevin's size restriction on bucks is strictly enforced so he has plenty of big deer to hunt. I hunted for 5 days with a bow and three days with a shotgun. I saw my first Boone & Crockett bucks on the third day of the archery hunt. I knew then I'd be coming back regardless of how I did on this trip. There were two of them together and they were unbelievable! Tragically I had no shots at the deer. They were in range but there was thick brush between them and me and they wouldn't come to my grunting or rattling. My guide, an experienced and conscientious hunter, kept me hunting on this particular farm for the remainder of my bow hunt. I'm looking forward to hunting with him again. I didn't kill a deer at Ashlenz this year but after I saw the possibilities I have to go back. |

| Very enjoyable... |
 |
I just returned from a very enjoyable early October (2005) Archery Whitetail hunt with Ashlenz Outfitters located in West Central Illinois.(Pike and Adams counties) Although I did not take a deer, (I passed on a 130 Class 10 point). I saw numerous deer each time I was in my stand.
This kept the hunt exciting for the entire time I was there. The outfitter, Kevin Ayo, and his local partner, Kevin Dietrich, have some 8000 acres of the premier whitetail habitat in the Pike and Adam County area. (2000 of which is bow only) Accommodations are good, but not fancy. Presently, there lodges consists of two farm houses that have been well set up for hunting. They are warm and comfortable, and each room has bunk beds for the hunters.. The facility has a washer/dryer, satellite TV, VCR, and a shooting range set up primarily for archery.
Three meals a day are provided. The food is catered in. The quality and quantity of the food was good.
As an added interest, there are several things to do, in case some hunters in a party tag out early. A nearby game ranch offers Quail, pheasant, and Chukka hunting, as well as other game. There is also a pond by the lodge stocked with 5 lb + Channel Cat that are easy to catch. I caught several and one of the guides fried them for us one night. They were delicious. We also grilled some fresh bacon wrapped venison back strap one night. I think it was the best that I've had. Finally, I would like to say that the staff of Ashlenz Outfitters, from Kevin and his partner, to his guides, are all avid deer hunters and are genuinely interested in helping their hunters harvest a deer. I would definitely recommend the hunt to anyone interested in having a great archery hunt.

| Headed back next fall... |
 |
If your passion is autumn whitetails, then pike county in general and ashlenz outfitters in particular is the destination. Kevin Ayo has planned and managed a magnificent deer environment to produce a great all around hunting experience. Thousands of acres with hundreds of strategic stand placements ensure minimal hunting pressure and allow you to use the wind to your advantage, and guides eager for your success are a guarantee. No doubt about it, the bucks are there and with the right combination of luck and skill you can close the deal. Ashlenz outfitters will test your skill and you will leave a better hunter than when you arrived. And don't worry, accommodations and meals were warm and ample. Although I did not harvest a buck, I`m hooked and headed back next fall!

| What a show... |
 |
This hunt with Ashlenz outfitters was a dream hunt come true for me, for several reasons. I purchased this hunt as a retirement present to myself. I had been dreaming of going on a hunt such as this for several years, anticipating my retirement. I`m from N.W. Florida and wanted the opportunity to bow hunt big bucks, during the rut. So I did some research and found Ashlenz outfitters to best fit my needs. Prior to me coming and during my research I spoke with Kevin several times on the phone before making my decision. Each time we talked he took the time to answer all my questions and made me feel comfortable with my decision.
Upon arriving at camp the other hunters and myself found out that a camera crew was in camp filming a hunt. The day before our hunt Kevin and Bryan( my guide) took us riding around the area to look at the deer to give us an opportunity to judge these big bucks. My hunt was the first week of the rut hunts and riding around was like watching a hunting video, as these bucks were showing signs of rutting action. The first afternoon I harvested a 252 lb. 9 point, a real trophy buck. The camera crew took video of me and my deer and hopefully they will use it in an upcoming show this year. (2006)
I spent the rest of my time interacting with Kevin and Bryan and riding around looking at deer, what a show. Kevin was very patient with all my questions about the deer and hunting in this part of the country. I enjoyed my hunt very much and thank Kevin and Bryan for help making several dreams come true. Harvesting a big Illinois buck, Possibly being on a video or tv, and having my picture on his web-site and brochure.
If your looking for a no frills good quality hunt at a reasonable price I would highly recommend hunting with Kevin at Ashlenz Outfitters. The food was good the lodging was comfortable and the companionship was great. I plan on re booking this year.
